Acceptable Use Policy

Your use of the Platform and the Services as defined in the Contractor Terms of Service is subject to this Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”).

Capitalized terms have the meaning stated in the applicable agreement between you and us.  By accessing or using our Services, you agree to adhere to our Policy.  Any violation of this Policy may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your Services.    

You acknowledge and agree not to use, and not to allow third parties to use the Platform and the Services in any of the prohibited uses specifically listed below:

  • to materially degrade, disrupt, or interfere with the Services on the Platform or the use of the Services;

  • to violate, or encourage the violation of, the legal or intellectual property rights of others;

  • to engage in, promote, or encourage any activity or game that violates applicable laws or regulations, including but not limited to the dissemination of child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”), promoting fraudulent schemes (e.g. Ponzi or “make money fast” scams), identity theft, or terrorism or violence that can cause death, serious harm, or injury to individuals or groups of individuals;

  • to promote or encourage profane, pornographic, obscene, indecent, or unlawful content;

  • to promote or encourage any political candidate, position, or activity;

  • to threaten, promote, or enable violence, terrorism or other serious harm;

  • to promote any content or activity that promotes or enables child sexual exploitation or abuse;

  • to enable any third party to use, access, or compromise your account, or to share your password with any third party; 

  • to undermine the security or integrity of the Platform, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or its related network;

  • to misrepresent or mask your identity in connection with the use of the Platform or the Services;

  • to cause to be distributed infringing or misappropriated intellectual property or proprietary rights of others, including wholesale copyright infringement (piracy), or hosting unauthorized streaming services;

  • to use the Platform and the Services for any unlawful, invasive, defamatory or fraudulent purpose, including but not limited to Non-consensual Explicit Imagery (NCEI), phishing, creating a pyramid scheme, fraud, deceptive purposes, other scams, impersonation, misrepresenting the authority to act on behalf of others, the sale of illegal goods and services, or hate speech;

  • to use the Platform and the Services in any manner intended to damage, disable, overburden, or impair the hosted platform; 

  • to distribute viruses, worms, Trojan horses, time bombs, corrupted files, malware, spyware, hoaxes, or other items of a destructive or deceptive nature, including those that may damage the operation of another’s computer or property, those that are intended to damage systems, and those which surreptitiously intercept data;

  • to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, or impair the use of the Platform or the Services or the equipment used to provide the Services;

  • to disable, interfere with or circumvent any aspect of the Platform, the Services, or the hardware used to provide the Services;

  • to scrape or otherwise download in bulk, any content from the Platform or the Services, including but not limited to a list or directory of users on the system, user content, user information, course materials, or trademarks or logos;

  • to rent, lease, loan, or sell access to, or otherwise attempt to transfer or make the Services available to any third party;

  • to obfuscate code or application logic uploaded to the Platform to hide malicious intent or bypass Platform detection and security controls;

  • to obtain or attempt to obtain any content, materials or information stored on the Platform through any means not made intentionally available;

  • to generate, distribute, publish or facilitate unsolicited mass email, promotions, advertisements, or other solicitations (“spam”), or any form of commercial solicitation; 

  • to generate or store synthetic media intended to deceive or harass, including but not limited to nonconsensual sexual imagery;

  • to use the Services to facilitate the “jailbreaking” of third-party AI models or to bypass safety guardrails;

  • to store or process datasets obtained through web scraping, or performing automated network and system reconnaissance (including port scanning), in violation of a third party’s terms of service robots.txt directives, or without explicit authorization;

  • to create “gibberish” or nonsensical content, deceptive search engine results, or falsifying reputation metrics (e.g., automated generation of fake social proof or “stars”);             

  • to attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system (including port scanning);

  • to inundate a target with requests (including flooders, reflectors, and amplifiers to render it ineffective or slow);

  • to operate open proxies, open mail relays, or proxy farms, used to bypass GeoIP  restrictions or  IP-based rate limits;

  • to use compute resources to mine digital assets or cryptocurrencies;

  • to use temporary, disposable, or “dead drop” email addresses for your account;

  • to create accounts via automated means, registering accounts in bulk, or maintaining an excessive number of accounts as a single user without our explicit permission;

  • to use the Services as a “drop-zone” for stolen data or as a command-and-control (C2) infrastructure for malware;

  • to use the Services for card testing, card verification, or the storage of stolen financial data;

  • to use the Services for the sale or distribution of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, or facilitating unregulated gambling and wagering activities;

  • to use in nuclear facilities, aircraft navigation, or life support systems where failure could lead to death or catastrophic damage;                                        

  • to use the Services, or any interfaces provided with the Services, to access any other Company product or service in a manner that violates the Contractor Terms of Service;

  • to publish content that contains intentionally inaccurate information or that is published with the intention of misleading others; or

  • to use the Platform and Services for any other objectionable purpose.

You further agree to abide by the following rules of conduct when using the Platform or the Services:

 

  • You agree to refrain from the distribution of sexually explicit material and to minimize swearing.  You expressly acknowledge and agree that you shall at all times be sensitive to the expectations of a global audience;

  • You agree to abide by the laws of the United States and all other applicable laws and legal obligations, and encourage others to do the same;

  • You agree to respect the privacy of others and to refrain from the distribution of private, confidential, or proprietary correspondence or information without permission;

  • You agree to refrain from direct promotion or advertisement; however, you expressly acknowledge and agree that attributing code, thanking other contributors and mentioning one’s company are permitted;

  • You agree to refrain from engaging in bad behavior, including but not limited to harassment, belligerent conduct, and bigotry; 

  • You agree to promptly report any or all violations of the rules at the email address listed below;

  • You agree to refrain from arguing publicly or privately; and 

  • You agree to engage in conduct on the Platform that contributes to the creation of a positive overall environment for all contractors on the Platform.   

The following additional restrictions apply to any use of AI or AI features on the Platform and Services: 

  • To refrain from using AI or AI features to build substantially similar functionality or a competing product or to train competing AI models;

  • To refrain from using AI or AI features to engage in model extractions or stealing attacks;

  • To refrain from buying, selling, or transferring an AI providers’ API keys from, to, or with a third party;

  • To refrain from circumventing or bypassing any protective measures or safety mitigations within or related to the AI products or features;

  • To refrain from removing any metadata, digital signatures, or watermarks to identify AI generated products or content;

  • To refrain from extracting data through any method, such as web-scraping or web harvesting, from the AI or AI features, unless permitted by law;

  • To refrain from publishing or disclosing the results of any benchmarking of the AI or AI features, or using those results for competing software development activities;

  • To refrain from representing that output is human-generated without reliance on AI;

  • Creating, sending, uploading, displaying, storing, processing, or transmitting:

    • Content that is, or is intended to be, disseminated in electoral campaigns;

    • Content that encourages violence, terrorism, or other serious harms; or 

    • Content that promotes or facilitates unlawful online gambling or disruptive commercial messages;

  • To avoid any “high risk” areas under the EU AI Act; 

  • To refrain from developing or advancing facial recognition databases;

  • To refrain from making inferences about the personal characteristics of a real person based on biometric data;

  • To refrain from creating, receiving, maintaining, transmitting or otherwise processing any information that includes or constitutes:

    • “Protected Health Information” as defined under the HIPAA Privacy Rule (45 C.F.R. Section 160.103); 

    • Personal information of children under age 13 or the applicable age of digital consent; or

    • Data subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations maintained by the U.S.;

  • To refrain from engaging in online services directed at children;

  • To refrain from clinical practice, or as a substitute for regulated advice;

  • To refrain from developing bioweapons, chemical weapons, or weapons of mass destruction; and

  • To refrain from causing property destruction.

We may investigate any suspected violation of this Policy, and remove, disable, suspend,  ban, or terminate access, either temporarily or permanently, to any user, content or resource that violates this Policy, or alternatively, if we determine that a user’s conduct poses legal, regulatory, security, reputation, or operational risks to us, the Services, or other contractors or customers.  You agree to cooperate with us to remedy any violation. 

We may report suspected illegal activities to law enforcement, regulators, or other appropriate third parties.  This may include disclosing appropriate information and cooperating with investigations into illegal conduct.

When determining whether there has been a violation of this Policy, we may consider your ability and willingness to comply with this Policy, including the policies and processes you have in place to prevent or identify and remove any prohibited content or activity.

We have no obligation to monitor user activity on this Platform, and do not assume responsibility for user activity or content.
